Director: Dog park has 80 registered users

Eighty people have registered to use the dog park, according to the Tiffin Park and Recreation Department director’s report to the board Thursday.

Director Matt Coleman said a glitch in using the entrance code is being fixed.

“We’ve had pretty good comments on it already,” he said. “There are some minor problems to work through.”

A water line decision is pending, he said. Because the line in place to the water fountain is old, he said leaks have been found. He isn’t sure if the volunteer group operating the dog park plans to run a new line for about 1,000 feet instead of tapping into the old line. The cost difference is about $2,000 compared to about $15,000.

Coleman said the department received a $700 donation from the Music and Art Festival.

“Plans for next year are to make it more community- and family-friendly,” he said about the festival. “It sounds like there might be less bands and more community events, and more art.”

The board is to meet at 11:30 a.m. Sept. 11 in the conference room at the municipal building.
