Tiffin woman indicted

A Tiffin woman who recently was indicted on charges of theft and tampering with records appeared in court Thursday where she was released on an own recognizance bond.

Christine Hampshire, 42, who was arrested Tuesday on charges of theft, a fifth-degree felony, and tampering with records, a third-degree felony, had been indicted by a Seneca County grand jury in June, according to court documents.

According to her indictment, Hampshire allegedly tampered with records and deprived The Ohio Department of Job and Family Services of $2,280 in unemployment benefits from December until March of this year.

Hampshire is scheduled to appear in court Wednesday for an arraignment, a court spokeswoman from Seneca County Common Pleas Court Judge Michael Kelbley’s courtroom said.
