Responders recover body in Fostoria reservoir
FOSTORIA – The body of a man who had been fishing was pulled from Lake Mottram, Fostoria’s Reservoir No. 2, by Fostoria Fire Division personnel Wednesday evening.
Michael A. Enright, 21, of Fostoria, was pronounced dead at the scene, according to Fostoria Fire Division.
A person advised at 6:09 p.m. a man jumped in the reservoir near the water treatment plant, 744 W. Fremont St., and had not come up, according to a Fostoria Police Department report.
According to a Fostoria Fire Division release, witnesses stated the victim fell into the water from the shore. Another witness attempted to go into the water but was unsuccessful in locating him, it states.
Enright’s body was recovered from the reservoir about an hour after the 911 call.
Personnel from Fostoria Fire Division, Fostoria Police Department, Seneca County’s water rescue team and Tiffin Fire Rescue Division assisted at the scene of the recovery.
Chief Keith Loreno of Fostoria Police Department said dive teams from Hancock County and Toledo were canceled en route to the scene.
Seneca County Community Emergency Response Team assisted with traffic control.
Hancock County’s coroner responded and ordered the body be taken to Lucas County Coroner’s Office for further examination, according to the release. The cause of death was under investigation by the coroner Wednesday night.
Family members were at the scene and were interviewed, according to the release.
