Investigation set for man who pleaded guilty to hurting baby

A pre-sentence investigation was ordered last week for a Fostoria man who pleaded guilty to endangering children, a third-degree felony.

Nathaniel S. Slagle, 25, who appeared Friday in court and pleaded guilty to the charge, had been indicted by a Seneca County grand jury in May for creating a substantial risk to the health or safety of a minor by violating a duty of care, protection or support in December.

The victim, a baby, had suffered a broken leg as a result of the incident. The incident occurred while the baby was getting a diaper change, law enforcement said.

According to his indictment, Slagle faces up to 36 months in prison and a fine of up to $10,000.
