Four from Tiffin injured in Hancock County crash

FINDLAY – Four Tiffin residents were injured in a Hancock County crash Thursday afternoon.

The accident at US 224 near TR 255 occurred around 4:30 p.m. Tuesday.

According to a release from Hancock County Sheriff’s Office, Phillip Aretz, 39, of Findlay, was driving a 1998 Chevrolet truck and towing a skid loader on a 2008 trailer westbound. The frame broke on the trailer, causing the Chevrolet to lose control and travel into the eastbound lane of travel.

The trailer was struck by a 2006 Dodge minivan being driven eastbound by William Laugherty, 30, of Tiffin, the release states.

Laugherty and his passengers, Rhonda Laugherty, 30; Morgan Guernsey, 6; and Aubrey Laugherty, 2, were taken to Blanchard Valley Hospital, it states.

Their injuries were not life-threatening, a sheriff’s office spokesman said.

Aretz and his passenger, Jeff Warnimont, 46, of Rawson, were not injured.

The accident was under investigation Thursday.
