Cases halted for more investigation
Charges against a McCutchenville woman and a Wakeman man that stemmed from a June burglary were dismissed last week in Seneca County Common Pleas Court.
According to court documents, a second-degree felony charge of burglary against Emilee N. Davis, 29, and charges of possession of criminal tools, a fifth-degree felony; burglary, a second-degree felony; and possession of drugs, a fifth-degree felony, against Joshua A. Johnson, 34, were dismissed.
The state had filed for the motions to dismiss the charges, which had been bound over from Tiffin-Fostoria Municipal Court, because further investigation is necessary, according to the motion. Once more evidence is gathered, cases are to be presented to a grand jury.
Johnson and Davis were arrested last month after they allegedly were caught by police burglarizing a Circular Street home. The pair knew the residents of the home, according to police, but they allegedly did not have permission to be in the house.
