Attica police investigate vehicle break-ins

ATTICA – Attica Police Department and Seneca County Sheriff’s Office took several reports Monday of vehicles that had been broken into.

According to sheriff’s office reports, two women in the 300 block of North Liberty Street reported Monday morning their vehicles were broken into. A 100-block North Liberty Street resident reported a vehicle was broken into, and a first-block Lemmon Street woman reported someone broke into her car.

Also, a 200-block West High Street man reported Monday afternoon his vehicle was broken into, and his gun was stolen. Change was taken from one vehicle and a purse was taken out of another vehicle in the 100 block of West High Street. The purse later was recovered.

Suspicious activity was reported in the first block of South Main Street Monday afternoon.

Chief Keith Turner of Attica Police Department said there are three suspects, but he did not know their names. They were caught using a credit card stolen from Attica at a gas station in New Haven, he said.

Turner said he thinks they are from the Attica-Willard area.

There were similar reports taken by Fostoria Police Department.

According to police reports, a 400-block North Main Street woman reported Sunday night her unlocked vehicle was ransacked. A 200-block West North Street woman reported Monday morning someone got into her vehicle. A 700-block Circle Drive man reported Monday morning his wife found someone had gone through her car and took change.

Also, a 300-block East North Street man reported Monday afternoon items were stolen out of his vehicle.
