Recorder warns of deed letter
The Seneca County Recorder’s Office is alerting residents to a letter being received at some residences seeking to provide a copy of their deed for $83.
The letter reads “recorded deed notice” in capital letters at the top, and may include detailed information about the resident’s property. One such letter listed Record Transfer Services of Westlake Village, California, in the return address.
Residents can get copies of deeds for a few dollars from the recorders office. Residents who receive such a letter should contact Seneca County Recorder Michael Dell at (419) 447-4434.
