Hospital to host children’s fair

Children’s Health Fair is set for 9 a.m.-noon June 21 in McMullen Conference Center and Mercy Community Nature Preserve at Mercy Tiffin Hospital. Attendees can speak to experts and take home information on health-related topics. The first 100 children are to get a free thermometer.

Some of the activities at the Children’s Health Fair:

Screenings for asthma, speech and physical therapy.

Sport safety information – Learn how to prevent sport injuries.

Hospital lab – Let the kids try on a lab coat and use a microscope.

Stuffed animal clinic – Get a checkup for a favorite stuffed animal or doll.

Drop off old or unused prescription medication.

Talk to a dietician about healthy kid foods.

Get information about kids’ health and safety.

Take a close up look at the LifeFlight and LifeStar Mobile.

Complete an obstacle course for children’s physical fitness.

Learn how to make and fly a kite.

Meet Mercy Children’s mascot, Hugs the Hippo.

Also participanting are representatives from the Seneca County General Health District, Tiffin Community YMCA, Seneca County Help Me Grow Early Intervention Program, Optima Rehabilitation Services, Seneca County Sherriff’s Office, Tiffin Fire and Rescue, Seneca County Parks District and the Franciscan Earth Literacy Center.
