Craft barn relocates to Tiffin
After the doors of Primitive Crossroads Craft Barn opened in Tiffin May 16, the store will host a ribbon-cutting ceremony Thursday.
Angie Weisenauer, owner of Primitive Crossroads, said her Bloomville location was open for seven years, and she decided to move the business to Tiffin to allow for expansion.
In the weeks since the store opened at 2499 W. Market St., she said, “the community has been great.”
Many of Primitive Crossroad’s customers, she said, are from Tiffin, so the new location has been a convenient change.
Not only does the West Market Street building provide more space for Primitive Crossroads, she said, but it also offers better parking, a prime location and handicap access, which had been lacking at the Bloomville store.
CourtLee Interiors formerly was located at Primitive Crossroad’s new storefront, but the business closed earlier this year.
Weisenauer said Mike Lee and Deb Cleland of CourtLee have stayed on staff at Primitive Crossroads, and the store now offers flooring, custom blinds, curtains and wallpaper, in addition to the home decor customers have come to expect.
Blending CourtLee’s expertise into the product line available at Primitive Crossroads, she said, has allowed the store to go “a whole different route.”
Primitive Crossroads’ traditional handmade furniture, framed prints, rugs and other home decor still are featured at the new location, Weisenauer said, but the expanded space has allowed her to add new products, include bedding and antique items.
Also, special-made items, lighting, pottery and pottery classes are offered at Primitive Crossroads, she said.
With 13,000 square feet of retail space, Weisenauer said Primitive Crossroads is a “one-stop shop to redecorate a home.” Free in-home estimates are available, she said.
Primitive Crossroads is open daily 9 a.m.-6 p.m.
The store’s Facebook page, Weisenauer said, is the best outlet for up-to-date store information, although details also can be found on the store’s website, primitivecrossroadscraftbarn.com.
