Auxiliary hosts midweek luncheon
The St. Francis Home Auxiliary is hosting a Spring is in the Picture luncheon, card party, bingo, bake sale and raffle Wednesday.
Doors at Elizabeth Schafer Auditorium, 190 St. Francis Ave., are to open at 10:30 a.m., with lunch served at noon. Tickets are $7 at the door.
Proceeds from the event are to help provide a music memory program and other items that enhance St. Francis residents’ spiritual, cultural, recreational and physical well-being.
Documentary to focus on climate
See a “Movie with a Message” Monday at St. Francis Spirituality Center. “Chasing Ice,” an award-winning documentary on climate change, is to be shown at 6:30 p.m.
Doors are to open at 6:15.
Afterward, join in a brief discussion (no longer than 15 minutes). An offering is to be taken.
Gospel singing and supper slated
Dining and gospel singing are planned for 5-7:30 p.m. May 12 at Shooey’s Cool Creations restaurant, 706 S. Sandusky St.
Trulla Thompson, Clayton & Mabel and Friends are to perform.
Retreat examines sacred icon
Monday is the deadline to register for the May 10 day of reflection on “The Cross That Spoke and Still Speaks Today.”
Sister Roberta Doneth, OSF, is to give the program based on the San Damiano Cross, a sacred icon revered by St. Francis and St. Clare of Assisi. The retreat is to run 9 a.m.-3 p.m. at St. Francis Spirituality Center.

The Pines to serve dinner for moms
FREMONT – Our Lady of the Pines Retreat Center is the venue for a Mother’s Day chicken barbecue dinner noon-4 p.m. May 11.
The cost is $10 for adults and $5 for children, dine-in or take-out. The menu includes chicken, cheesy potatoes, corn, roll, applesauce, cookie and beverage.
