Woman charged after hit-skip crash

A Tiffin woman was charged with fleeing and eluding a police officer and hit-skip after she fled the scene of an accident Wednesday afternoon.

Connie A. Crawford, 55, also was cited with operating a vehicle while intoxicated and failure to maintain assured clear distance ahead after she fled from a minor accident that she caused at Sandusky Street and Euclid Avenue just before 2:30 p.m.

Lt. Jason Windsor of the Tiffin Police Department said after Crawford fled from the crash, her vehicle was located by Officer Gary McClure on Hopewell Avenue. Crawford failed to stop for a traffic stop and then led McClure on a short pursuit down Fair Lane and into business parking lots. The pursuit ended at Westgate Mobile Home Park, where she was taken into custody.

Windsor said Crawford is incarcerated at the Seneca County Jail. She is scheduled to appear in Tiffin Municipal Court Monday for an arraignment.
