First Lutheran bells getting refurbished

The 10 bells at First Lutheran Church, 300 Melmore St., are going to be repaired and refurbished. This morning, a crane is to remove them from the tower at the church and place them on a flatbed truck for transport to Cincinnati.

The bells may be back in place by Easter, depending on their condition.

Rotary auction set

Tiffin Rotary’s annual auction is 6-10 p.m. today and Thursday at The Ritz Theatre, 30 S. Washington St.

Terra State presents ‘Resounding Brass’

PORT CLINTON – Terra State Community College’s Brass Choir and select high school musicians are to perform in concert at 7:30 p.m. Friday in the Performing Arts Center at Port Clinton High School.

“Resounding Brass” is to include a range of music for brass and percussion. Participating students were selected from Fremont Ross, Lakota, Margaretta, Monroeville, Port Clinton and Sandusky high schools to rehearse and perform with community and semi-professional musicians from the Terra State Brass Choir.

Comedian booked

FINDLAY – Comedian and contortionist Jonathan Burns is to perform at 8 p.m. Friday in Alumni Memorial Union at The University of Findlay.

CAREY – A Lenten seafood buffet is being offered 4:30-7 p.m. Friday at Our Lady of Consolation Shrine Cafeteria, 315 Clay St., Carey. The cost is $9.50 for adults and $5 for children age 12 and younger.

REPUBLIC – St. Aloysius has planned an all-you-can-eat fish fry at 5:30 p.m. Friday at Republic Town Hall. Drive-through carryouts are to be available.

Tiffin Knights of Columbus is to host an all-you-can eat fish fry 5-7:30 p.m. Friday for members and guests. Meals are $8.

Kiwanis Club of Tiffin is to serve a fish and chicken dinner at 4:30 p.m. Saturday. The cost is $8.
