History alliance meets in Clyde
CLYDE – The Clyde Heritage League hosted the Region 2 annual meeting of the Ohio Local History Alliance in the Clyde Presbyterian Church Saturday.
Brenda Stultz of Green Springs, curator of the Clyde Museum, began planning in January for this meeting with the Local History Office at the Ohio Historical Society. Stultz said about 50 attendees represented historical organizations in Fremont, Bellevue, Tiffin, Clyde, Sandusky, Republic, Columbus, Norwalk, Mansfield, Mt. Gilead, New Washington, Milan, Lexington, Vermilion, Elmore, Lakeside and Marion.
“The church has been so gracious to allow us to meet there and the attendees are aware of the historical significance of the venue as a setting in (Sherwood) Anderson’s ‘Winesburg Ohio,'” Stultz said.
“This meeting is very valuable to those of us who work in the history field. It is a great opportunity for the sharing of expertise and camaraderie as well as offering a time to showcase what each museum and historical/preservation organization in attendance offers to enrich their communities,” Stultz said.
