Getaway driver awaits sentencing in robbery case

A Fostoria man is awaiting sentencing after pleading guilty this week to complicity to aggravated robbery.

According to court documents, a pre-sentence investigation was ordered for Zachary T. Spires, 20, who had been indicted on the first-degree felony charge for serving as the getaway driver in a Fostoria gas station robbery in February.

The robbery suspect, Dakota M. Sharninghouse, 19, who faces an aggravated robbery charge, a first-degree felony, has pleaded not guilty to the charge.

Sharninghouse allegedly robbed Circle K, 551 E. Lytle St., at gunpoint and took about $190 from the store. He then allegedly fled in a vehicle driven by Spires.

A jury trial is scheduled next month for Sharninghouse.
