Student reports choking

A 18-year-old student was treated at Mercy Tiffin Hospital Tuesday morning after he was allegedly choked and knocked out on his way to school.

According to reports from the Tiffin Police Department, a caller from the emergency room reported around 11:15 a.m. they were treating an 18-year-old male for a head laceration he said he received while walking to school.

Sgt. Joseph Feld of the Tiffin Police Department said the alleged incident occurred in the 200 block of South Washington Street, and after the student regained consciousness, he walked home and his mother took him to the emergency room.

Feld said the teen had a small cut and some light marks on his neck.

He said the teen didn’t provide police with any names, but the incident remains under investigation.
