Fostoria woman charged with assault of an officer

A Fostoria woman was arrested Friday morning after she assaulted three police officers.

Capt. Patrick Brooks of the Fostoria Police Department said Shannon M. Snowden, 32, of Fostoria, was charged with three counts of assaulting a police officer, and one count each of failure to comply and resisting arrest after she kicked three police officers. Brooks said police had been responding to a parking complaint regarding her vehicle.

Brooks said Snowden’s vehicle was parked illegally in an alley on North Main Street and after police asked her to move it, she became verbally abusive. Once she exited the car and police tried to arrest her, she then kicked three police officers, Brooks said.

Snowden also was cited with a traffic violation, Brooks said.
