Man jailed on abduction charge

A man was incarcerated in Seneca County Jail on an abduction charge Sunday.

According to a Tiffin Police Department report, Matthew A. Keckler, 29, of Tiffin, was charged with abduction, a third-degree felony, and was being held without bond. He also had been charged with domestic violence, a first-degree misdemeanor.

Sgt. Joe Feld of Tiffin Police Department said Keckler was arrested Thursday on the domestic violence charge and posted bond. He was arrested Saturday on the abduction charge.

A Seneca County Jail spokesman said Keckler was booked in the jail Saturday morning and remained in jail Sunday night.

Feld said both charges were a result of the same incident, and a fight between Keckler and his wife led to the domestic violence charge.

Information about the abduction charge was not available from the police department Sunday night.

Feld said Keckler’s wife provided a statement to police and filed a protection order against him.
