Man indicted on drug growing charges

A Fostoria man has been indicted on charges of illegal cultivation of marijuana, trafficking in marijuana and possession of criminal tools in connection to a search warrant last year that yielded more than 200 pot plants.

According to court documents, Ryan D. Steward, 26, was indicted on the charges last week by a Seneca County grand jury. The case was filed this week in Seneca County Common Pleas Court.

Law enforcement conducted a search warrant at Steward’s Hale Street residence in July, where 224 marijuana plants were found. Processed marijuana, marijuana cultivation supplies, drug paraphernalia and criminal tools also were recovered from the residence.

If convicted of the charges, Steward could face up to five and a half years in prison and a fine of up to $17,500.
