Two teens jump from window
Two teenagers allegedly jumped from a second-story window at Willow Creek Apartments, 575 E. SR 18, when law enforcement officers were investigating a report of a marijuana odor Friday night.
Deputy Christopher Potter of Seneca County Sheriff’s Office said Kelly Strausbaugh, 19, of Tiffin, was charged with obstruction. She was taken to Seneca County Jail and was released. A 17-year-old boy, who last was incarcerated in Port Huron, Mich., was taken to the youth center. He was to be charged with obstruction and drug abuse.
Potter said he and another deputy responded and located the source of the odor coming from Apartment G5. People were seen on the second floor, but there was no response to knocking, he said.
Potter said he heard someone running through the woods and could see where someone had jumped out the second-story window. Footprints led to a barn at a residence on SR 18, and Strausbaugh stepped out of the barn, he said.
The boy was located walking down the road.
Strausbaugh and the boy were not injured. Alcohol use and marijuana use were occurring in the apartment, and the other five people, who all were under 20 years old, in the apartment were not charged, Potter said.
Four deputies responded to the call.
“We had the whole shift out there,” Potter said.
The sheriff’s office received the call at 11:08 p.m., according to a report.
