Man can stand trial for sex charges
A man indicted on nine sex-related charges last year has been found competent to stand trial.
After being found competent, Shawn E. Hunt, 40, then entered a plea of not guilty last week to three counts of rape, three counts of sexual battery, two counts of illegal use of a minor in nudity-oriented material and one count of voyeurism in Seneca County Common Pleas Court Judge Steve Shuff’s courtroom, according to court documents.
The case will now proceed to a jury trial.
Hunt was arrested in November in Arkansas after being indicted on the charges by a Seneca County grand jury. The incidents alleged in his indictment occurred in Seneca County in 2011 and 2012 and involved a minor.
