H-L board seeks levy renewal
BASCOM – In a special meeting Wednesday evening, Hopewell-Loudon Board of Education members decided to ask voters to renew the 5-year emergency operating levy. This proposed renewal levy would generate $570,000, treasurer Veronica Reinhart said.
The county auditor will need to compute exact millage to generate the amount. Once determined, the board is to make the final resolution to place the levy on the ballot for the May election, Reinhart said.
The board approved hiring Cathy Walker, home instruction tutor, and Heather Cornett as a classified employee.
The OSBA membership was renewed for $2,706 and $130 for the Briefcase newsletter and $190 for the School Management News.
The board conducted a workshop acquainting new board members with the policies and procedures of the board.
The board is to meet in special session at 6 p.m. Jan. 29.
