Clyde-GS school board reorganizes
CLYDE – Clyde-Green Springs Board of Education met Thursday to organize for 2014. Newly elected members Denise Hamrick and Zach Selvey were sworn into office by Treasurer Joyce Dupont.
Matt Jenne was chosen as board president and Nancy Greenslade was named vice president.
Meetings are to remain at 6 p.m. the fourth Monday of the month, except December due to the school holiday.
In other news, the board:
Established a service fund for board business at $20,000.
Named Pepple and Waggoner Ltd. of Independence as legal counsel for 2014.
Authorized Dupont to request advances from the county auditor as funds become available.
Named the superintendent as the chief purchasing agent for all goods and services and authorizing payment by the treasurer.
Appointed DuPont as the public records designee for the board.
Appointed Jenne to the Athletic Board of Control.
Appointed Selvey as the legislative liaison.
Appointed Matt Nicely as the Safety Village liaison.
Named Hamrick as the Clyde Recreation Board designee.
Appointed Greenslade as liaison to the Community of the Arts committee as well as Vanguard-Sentinel Board designee.
Noted Joe Letterhos is to wear several hats for the district including Title IX coordinator, civil rights coordinator, equal opportunity coordinator, free and reduced lunch verification officer and the American Disabilities Act ombudsman.
Approved the appointment of the board members, superintendent and treasurer as financial audit committee members.
The Board of Education is to meet at 6 p.m. Jan. 27.
