Mobile dental clinic to return

“The Smile Express” mobile dental center is to make stops Thursday and Feb. 13 at Faith United Methodist Church, 75 N. Sandusky St. Licensed dental professionals are to serve children and adults at reduced rates.

This nonprofit organization accepts Medicaid and Medicare and provides payment plans at a reduced rate for those without insurance. The cost for a child, regardless of the service, is $25.

Bake sale planned Saturday

Team Taiho, a Relay For Life team, plans to have a bake sale noon-4 p.m. Saturday at Rural King and Tiffin Ace Hardware. Proceeds are to benefit American Cancer Society.

Folk singers to perform

The Ruckers are bringing folk music to Tififn for a concert 11 a.m.-noon Thursday in Heidelberg University’s Brenneman Music Hall.

Husband and wife James “Sparky” Rucker and Rhonda Hicks Rucker have been producing folk music focused on historical and religious ideas since the late 1980s. In 1991, The Ruckers appeared on the Grammy-nominated CD, “Singing Through the Hard Times,” and have released 15 albums throughout the years.

The show is free.

Poet’s legacy to be observed

Heidelberg University is to host the annual William Stafford Birthday Celebration 11 a.m.-noon Thursday in Herbster Chapel on campus. The focus of the event is nature poetry.

Those who attend are welcome to participate in the celebration by reading their favorite Stafford poem or their favorite nature poem. The celebration is an opportunity to share in fellowship and also to enjoy cookies, coffee and poetry readings.

Symphony show on tap at UF

FINDLAY – Under the baton of Jeffrey Pollock, the Toledo Symphony Orchestra is to give an 8 p.m concert Friday in Winebrenner Seminary at The University of Findlay.

The program includes Mendelssohn’s “The Italian Symphony,” “Symphony

No. 4 in A Major,” Bach’s “Brandenburg Concerto No. 2” and “Brandenburg Concerto No. 5.”

Tickets are $25 for adults, $20 for senior citizens and $10 for students. UF faculty and staff may purchase tickets for $15.

Fogg show coming to Fremont

FREMONT – Put-In-Bay entertainer and recording artist Ray Fogg is to present a one-man show of comedy and music at 9 p.m. Saturday at Strikers at Plaza Lanes, 2641 E. State St., Fremont.

Valentine workshop slated

FOSTORIA – The Fostoria Community Arts Council will host a children’s art workshop 10 a.m.-noon Feb. 1 for area children in grades 1-5 in the the FCAC office at 125 S. Main St., Fostoria.

Cheryl Graves is to conduct this free Valentine’s Day workshop. A variety of Valentine’s Day decorations will be available to be made and taken home.
