Vocal groups to stage holiday show

Terra State Community College and the Terra Choral Society are to give two performances of their 10th annual holiday festival, “A Journey Home.”

The first is at 7:30 p.m. Saturday at the Port Clinton Performing Arts Center, 821 Jefferson St., Port Clinton. A 4 p.m. concert is planned Sunday in Clyde High School Auditorium, 1015 Race St., Clyde

Tickets are $10 and available through the box office by calling (419) 559-2379, at the door or at www.terra.edu.

The concerts feature Terra State’s vocal ensembles: Terra Children’s Choir, State of the Art, Terra Men’s and Women’s Choruses, and guest performers, including faculty Keith Barber (guitar), Tamara Kagy (flute) and the return of Terra music program alumnus Justin Burel (piano).

Audience members will experience time-honored classics of Handel’s “Messiah” and holiday favorites, as well as jazz and gospel music. Special highlights include a candlelight processional, new winter tunes by Jonathan Torrence, carol sing-a-longs, narratives, dramatic effects and a tribute to the music of Irving Berlin’s “White Christmas” and “Holiday Inn.”
