4 charged after downtown fight
Four people were charged after a fight in downtown Tiffin early Sunday morning.
According to Tiffin Police Department, the department received a report of a large fight in the 100 block of South Washington Street at 2:26 a.m. Sunday. A sergeant who responded estimated at least 100 people were in the roadway.
“People were running everywhere, pushing each other, and yelling,” the report states.
Devontae M. Payne, 23, of Cleveland, was charged with assault, a first-degree misdemeanor, and obstructing justice, a second-degree misdemeanor. Mitchell D. Marshall, 23, of Tiffin; Oliver Cyprian III, 23, of Tiffin; and Tevin K. Bradley, 21, of Cincinnati, all were charged with disorderly conduct, a minor misdemeanor.
Marshall had a cut above his eye and was transported by a Tiffin Fire Rescue Division ambulance to Mercy Tiffin Hospital, according to the police department.
Seven officers responded to the fight, and assistance also was sought from other departments, according to the department.
Payne, whose bond was set at $9,000 with 10 percent allowed, is to appear in Tiffin Municipal Court at 9 a.m. today. Cyprian is to appear at 9 a.m. Wednesday, and Marshall and Bradley are to appear at 9 a.m. Friday.
