Woman admits to drug charges
One of two sisters arrested after allegedly taking drugs to the Seneca County Jail while enquiring about an inmate pleaded guilty to drug-related charges this week.
Jillian N. Murphy, 22, of Tiffin, appeared in Seneca County Common Pleas Court Judge Michael Kelbley’s courtroom where she pleaded guilty to two counts of trafficking in heroin, a fourth-degree felony, and one count each of possession of cocaine and aggravated possession of drugs, both fifth-degree felonies.
Kelbley ordered a pre-sentence investigation for Murphy, according to court documents.
Murphy was arrested Oct. 4 along with her sister, Jennifer L. Murphy, 24, also of Tiffin, when the pair showed up at the sheriff’s office after warrants had been issued for their arrests. The warrants were issued after a Seneca County grand jury indicted them on drug charges stemming from an August drug-related search warrant at their Tiffin apartment.
During their arrests at the sheriff’s office, suspected drugs, including heroin, marijuana, cocaine and Percocet, were found on Jillian and Jennifer.
Jennifer was indicted on fifth-degree felony charges of possession of cocaine, aggravated possession of drugs and permitting drug abuse. She also is charged with endangering children, a first-degree misdemeanor. She has pleaded not guilty to the charges.
