Sunday ‘Harvest’ to help FACT

BASCOM – The ninth annual Harvest of Hope is set for 11:30 a.m.-3 p.m. Sunday at Meadowbrook Ballroom, Bascom. This benefit for Financial Assistance for Cancer Treatment is to feature a lunch of hobo stew, sandwiches, sides, desserts and beverages. Those who dine in can eat as much as they like, and carry-out meals also are to be available. The cost is $8 for adults and $4 for children ages 6-12.

In addition to the meal, there is to be a bake sale, prayer chain, door prizes, a 50/50 drawing, silent auction and a drawing with a $1,000 grand prize. Paragon, a local barbershop quartet, is to sing noon-12:30 p.m., followed by a live auction of donated merchandise.

The Vogel and Staib families spearheaded the first Harvest of Hope in 2005, with the help of relatives, friends and other volunteers. Since then, the event has raised $51,000 for FACT. For more information, visit or call Rock Run Bulk Foods at (419) 448-7070.
