State patrol recruiting new troopers

The State Highway Patrol is accepting applications from those interested in becoming Ohio State troopers.

According to a release from the state patrol, recruitment is under way for filling the ranks of troopers. Applications are being accepted for the OSHP Academy until Friday.

To become a state trooper, applicants must be a U.S. citizen, an Ohio resident, have a high school diploma or GED, a valid driver’s license, and be between the ages of 20 and 34.

The Ohio State Highway Patrol is an internationally accredited agency whose mission is to protect life and property, promote traffic safety and provide professional public safety services with respect, compassion, and unbiased professionalism.

Anyone wishing to apply for the Ohio State Highway Patrol must go to and apply for the Public Safety Highway Patrol Cadet posting.

The applications will be completed online and qualified applicants will then schedule written and physical fitness exams.
