Man injured after possible assault
A man was taken by Life Flight Saturday morning after a possible assault.
Sgt. Jared Watson of the Tiffin Police Department said police responded to the Tiffin Motel, 315 W. Market St., early Saturday morning, after a report of a man trying to get into a room that wasn’t his.
Watson said Jeff Bulkowski, 51, of Tiffin, was found attempting to gain entry to a motel room. Bulkowski was “highly intoxicated,” Watson said.
Bulkowski was charged with disorderly conduct and possession of marijuana, and was then transported by Tiffin EMS to Mercy Tiffin Hospital for injuries that Watson said were sustained during a “possible assault.” Details of the injuries were not released.
He said Bulkowski, after being evaluated at Mercy Tiffin, was taken by Life Flight to another hospital. Watson said he wasn’t aware of the facility to which Bulkowski was transported. Bulkowski had not been cooperative with hospital staff at Mercy Tiffin, Watson said.
There currently are no suspects in the suspected assault, Watson said, and an investigation is ongoing.
