Man arrested in Ark. after Seneca indictment
A man was arrested in Arkansas this week after being indicted by a Seneca County grand jury on nine sex-related charges that stemmed from incidents in 2011 and 2012.
Shawn E. Hunt, 39, who was indicted in October on three counts of rape, a first-degree felony, three counts of sexual battery, a third-degree felony, two counts of illegal use of a minor in nudity oriented material or performance, a second-degree felony, and one count of voyeurism, a fifth-degree felony, was taken into custody by a Seneca County Sheriff’s deputy Monday evening in Dardanelle, Ark., according to court documents.
According to police reports, the deputy had driven to Arkansas to pick up Hunt on the charges.
In Hunt’s indictment, it states that he raped and had sexual conduct with a minor in August 2011 and in March 2012. He also photographed the minor in a state of nudity and recorded, spied or eavesdropped on the minor.
According to court documents, Hunt appeared in Seneca County Common Pleas Court Judge Steve Shuff’s courtroom Wednesday where his bond was set at $1 million with no 10 percent cash or surety allowed.
He is scheduled to appear Thursday for arraignment.
