Man admits to FedEx theft

A Fostoria man who stole a FedEx package from a delivery driver in June pleaded guilty to robbery last week and now is awaiting sentencing.

Myron L. Bates, 34, who was working at Zig Stag when he stole a package that was being delivered to the store, had been indicted on the third-degree felony charge after his arrest June 13.

That day, Bates took a package, which had contents in it worth more than $2,000, from the driver and ran from the store with it. The delivery driver chased after Bates and had a small struggle with him. Bates later turned himself in to police.

According to court documents, Seneca County Common Pleas Court Judge Michael Kelbley ordered a pre-sentence investigation last week following Bates’ plea.
