Man injures hand, arm in chainsaw accident

BLOOMVILLE – A man was injured in a chainsaw accident on East TR 163 in Bloom Township Sunday.

Chief Nathan Blaser of Bloomville’s fire department said the man sustained deep cuts to his hand and on his arm, near his wrist. The bleeding was controlled by the time the rescue crew arrived, he said.

“It was a serious injury, but not life-threatening,” he said.

Blaser said he believed the man was cutting wood in woods away from his home. The man was taken to Mercy Tiffin Hospital.

A Seneca County Sheriff’s Office spokeswoman said Bloomville EMS and fire and the county’s Echo unit responded to the incident Sunday afternoon.
