League voter guides available
The League of Women Voters has announced its voter guide for the general election is available. Although there was no primary election in the spring, there will be a general election Nov. 5.
Now that Tiffin has an “open primary” of city officials, there is only a primary election if the people running for an office outnumber the positions available. This year, only one or two individuals ran for any of the city offices, so there was no primary election.
Nov. 5, voters are to elect city officials, township officials and members of boards of education. There are no state ballot issues and a few local ballot issues.
The guide includes information from candidates for council president, three council members-at-large, municipal judge, township officials and school board members.
There also is a listing of all the ballot issues in the county. There are two ballot issues of interest to Tiffin-area residents that include Tiffin 1-C with a local liquor option for Sunday sales and Clinton Township with a ballot issue concerning a governmental electricity aggregation program with opt-out provisions. There also is a listing of polling places in the county.
Guides are to be available at The Advertiser-Tribune, the Seneca County Board of Elections, Tiffin-Seneca Public Library, government offices, schools, churches and banks throughout the city.
Candidates Night is set for 7 p.m. Oct. 16 at Tiffin Middle School.
