Free breast cancer screenings Wednesday
FOSTORIA ProMedica Fostoria Community Hospital is to offer free breast cancer screenings to uninsured and under-insured patients 8 a.m.-4 p.m. Wednesday in the Donald and Judy Miller Diagnostic Center, entrance 1. The program is being funded through a grant from Northwest Ohio Affiliate of Susan G. Komen for the Cure.
The screenings are to include a clinical breast exam, screening mammogram, education and follow-up support. The goal is to improve access to breast cancer screenings for women and men with no mammogram coverage.
Patients who have had a mammogram in the last 24 months are not eligible unless they have a personal history of breast cancer, mother/daughter/sister/father/son/ brother with a history of breast cancer or a self-disclosed or physician identified abnormality.
Another free screening mammogram event is scheduled for Jan. 15.
To schedule an appointment or to learn more, call the hospital’s central scheduling department at (419) 436-6690.
