Bettsville suspends treasurer

BETTSVILLE – Bettsville Board of Education passed a resolution to suspend the district’s treasurer during a special board meeting Monday.

Treasurer and Chief Fiscal Officer Roger Luhring is to be suspended with pay after the board passed a resolution pending an investigation concerning his role.

The board passed the resolution with a 5-0 vote.

In an email response, Bettsville Superintendent Gregg Pettit said, “Due to the legal process, the resolution that I sent you will be the only response that the Bettsville School District will be issuing at this time.”

Luhring did not respond to several phone messages seeking comment Wednesday evening.
