Bank conducting annual coat drive
Old Fort Banking Co.’s second annual coat drive is to run now through Oct. 31 in all Old Fort Bank financial centers.
Dee Blackburn, retail operations officer, said the program originated after talking to agencies that expressed a need for winter apparel. Items needed are coats, boots, hats, gloves and scarves.
“Our 2013 goal is to exceed 200 coats, boots, hats, gloves and scarves to ensure children and adults in our community have warm apparel before the winter weather sets in,” Blackburn said.
After Oct. 31, all items collected will be donated by Old Fort Bank to local agencies for distribution. The donations will benefit Seneca County Salvation Army, Hancock County Coats for Christmas, Clyde Food Pantry, Sandusky County Care and Share and Fostoria First Help.
The winter apparel drive is part of the bank’s “Seasons of Caring” program. This program is designed for Old Fort Bank associates to give back to their communities by dedicating time, monetary donations and service to numerous causes throughout the year
