Man charged with domestic violence after house burns
A domestic violence charge has been filed in Tiffin Municipal Court against a Bellevue man accused of assaulting his wife and then setting his North CR 29 home on fire.
The first-degree misdemeanor charge against Lloyd V. Hicks, 72, was filed by a Seneca County deputy Monday, according to court documents.
A court date has not yet been set for Hicks, who was transported to the Toledo Hospital for evaluation.
Hicks was arrested Thursday afternoon after he allegedly assaulted his wife, set his home on fire and had an approximately 45-minute-long stand-off with police. During the stand-off, Hicks shot a handgun at a Seneca County deputy and also held the gun to his chin. The stand-off ended after deputies negotiated with Hicks to put down the gun.
Detective Sgt. Kevin Reinbolt of the Seneca County Sheriff’s Office said Monday evening further charges are pending against Hicks.
