Fostoria fire seeks signatures on FEMA petition

Fostoria Fire Division is seeking signatures for a petition in support of a Federal Emergency Management Agency grant.

According to a release from Fostoria Fire Division, the fire department recently re-applied for a grant issued through FEMA to help keep the department operating at full-staff.

The grant currently funds eight firefighter positions and is critical in maintaining the appropriate level of safety and emergency services in Fostoria and eight surrounding communities such as Bascom, West Millgrove and Bradner, according to the release.

According to the release, Fostoria provides the only fire service-based paramedic ambulance in its total response area of 27.85 miles

A petition has been created to show FEMA how much the department needs the funds and how many people support Fostoria Fire Division. It will be sent to FEMA via email and U.S. Postal Service.
