Clyde woman transported by Life Flight after accident

A woman sustained life-threatening injuries after a single-vehicle accident in Sandusky County Sunday evening.

Trooper Austin Young of the Fremont post of State Highway Patrol said Lori S. Clouse, 43, of Clyde, was driving a 2001 Chevrolet Blazer north on SR 19. The vehicle went off the right side of the road, struck a culvert, overturned and struck a utility pole, he said.

Young said Clouse, who was not wearing a seatbelt, was thrown from the vehicle. She had life-threatening injuries and was taken from the scene by Life Flight to University of Toledo Medical Center, he said.

Alcohol use was unknown and Clouse had not been cited as of Sunday night.

Personnel from Green Springs Police Department, Green Springs Volunteer Fire Department, Sandusky County Life Squad, Sandusky County Sheriff’s Office and State Highway Patrol responded to the accident, which occurred just south of Limerick Road around 7 p.m.
