Woman hurt in crash
A woman was taken from the scene of an accident in Liberty Township by Life Flight Thursday afternoon.
Trooper Michael Chiarappa of the Bucyrus post of State Highway Patrol said Jamie Holtz, 24, of Fremont, was taken by Life Flight to Mercy St. Vincent Medical Center. Her condition was not available from the hospital Thursday night.
Holtz was driving a Volkswagen Jetta eastbound on CR 592 when the vehicle ran the stop sign and struck the front end of a 2008 GMC 2500 truck driven by Jacob Younker of Fostoria.
Chiarappa said the truck had been northbound on SR 635 and was making a left turn onto CR 592.
A passenger in the car, William C. Alspach Jr., 31, of Fremont, was taken to Mercy Tiffin Hospital. The driver of the truck was not injured, Chiarappa said.
A citation had not been issued Thursday afternoon. Chiarappa said all three people involved in the accident were wearing seatbelts.
Personnel from Bascom EMS, Bascom Joint Fire District, the county’s Echo unit, Kansas Volunteer Fire Department, Seneca County Sheriff’s Office and State Highway Patrol responded. The accident was reported at 2 p.m., a sheriff’s office spokeswoman said.
