Two injured in county crash

FOSTORIA – Two people were injured in an accident at SR 587 and TR 114 in Loudon Township early Saturday morning.

Trooper Jordan Schwochow of the Fremont post of State Highway Patrol said a Chevrolet Cavalier was eastbound on TR 114 and went through the stop sign, striking a Jeep Wrangler that was southbound on SR 587.

State Highway Patrol identified the driver of the Cavalier as David Myers, 48, of Tiffin, and the passenger as Stephanie Ward of Tiffin. They were taken to ProMedica Fostoria Community Hospital and then by ground ambulance to a Toledo hospital. They were released as of Saturday night, according to the highway patrol.

According to State Highway Patrol, Myers was cited with failure to stop at a posted stop sign and operating a vehicle while intoxicated.

Schwochow said the driver of the Jeep was not injured. He was identified as Brian Rohrbach but his hometown was unavailable.

It was unknown whether those involved in the accident were wearing seatbelts.

The accident was reported at 1:18 a.m., and Bascom fire and EMS and Bettsville fire and EMS were dispatched, a Seneca County Sheriff’s Office spokeswoman said.
