Police seek crash witnesses
Tiffin police are continuing to investigate a two-vehicle accident that occurred Tuesday afternoon at the intersection of Nelson and Miami streets.
Officer Steve Niedermier of the Tiffin Police Department said police also are seeking information from people who may have witnessed the accident, which occurred at 3:12 p.m.
Occupants of a minivan involved in the accident, John DeMoss, 81, and Audra DeMoss, 78, both of Tiffin, were transported to Mercy Tiffin Hospital following the crash. Audra was then transported to Mercy St. Vincent Medical Center where she died Tuesday night.
Niedermier said police are awaiting autopsy results to determine Audra’s cause of death.
He said Wednesday afternoon that John had been released from the hospital.
The other driver involved in the accident, Spencer Miller, 19, of Bloomville, has been cited with a red light violation. He was not injured.
Niedermier said alcohol is not a suspected factor and all involved in the crash were wearing seat belts.
