Motorcyclist injured in crash
FOSTORIA – A motorcyclist was taken from the scene of an accident on US 23, north of Fostoria, by Life Flight Sunday morning.
According to the Bowling Green post of State Highway Patrol, Duane Baker, 51, of Fostoria, was taken by helicopter to Mercy St. Vincent Medical Center.
Baker was driving a 1999 Harley-Davidson motorcycle southbound on US 23 when he went off the right side of the road, over-corrected, returned to the road and overturned.
“(The) driver was ejected,” Trooper Tony Scherley said.
A spokeswoman from Mercy St. Vincent Medical Center said there was no one by Baker’s name in the system Sunday evening.
Scherley said Sunday morning he was unsure of the extent of Baker’s injuries or why he lost control. Baker was not wearing a helmet at the time of the crash, according to the release.
The crash was under investigation Sunday morning. It was unknown whether alcohol or drugs played a role in the crash, according to the release.
Personnel from Fostoria Fire Division, Fostoria Police Department and West Millgrove Fire Department assisted at the scene.
