Fostoria shooting report unfounded

FOSTORIA – A report of a shooting in Fostoria Saturday night was unfounded.

According to a Fostoria Police Department report, a man at 513 Miller Ave. requested an ambulance Saturday night because his friend was shot in the knee while walking to Circle K.

Capt. Patrick Brooks of Fostoria Police Department said a person was not shot on Miller Avenue, and the story was made up. A man told multiple stories, and none could be confirmed, he said.

Brooks said he did not know how the man sustained a wound, but it was not a gunshot wound.

There will be no charges due to the person’s mental capacity, he said.
