State Patrol siezes drugs

LAKE TOWNSHIP -Six men are facing felony drug charges after State Highway Patrol troopers seized 907 pounds of marijuana, worth $4.1 million, and $13,908 in currency during two-related traffic stops in Wood County Wednesday.

Frankie Junior Layz, 22, and his passenger, William Luciano Jr., 33, both of Rochester, N.Y.; and the occupants of a motorhome, Justin T. Gould, 27, of Rochester, N.Y., Jimmy Pross Jr., 35, of Charlotte, N.C., and Jose M. Manzanares, 36, of Houston, Texas, were incarcerated in Wood County Jail and were charged with possession of marijuana and trafficking in marijuana, both second-degree felonies; money laundering, a third-degree felony; and possession of criminal tools, a fifth-degree felony, according to a release.

During the traffic stop of the motorhome, one suspect fled with his 7-year-old son. The suspect later was identified as a known drug violator, of Rochester, N.Y., and he plans to turn himself in to authorities, the release states.
