Man sentenced in coercion case

A Fremont man and former employee of Ottawa-Sandusky-Seneca Joint Solid Waste Management who pleaded guilty to having sexual relations with CROSSWAEH clients has been sentenced to three years of community control.

Jay A. Snyder, 40, who pleaded guilty to coercion and public indecency in March, was sentenced last week in Sandusky County Common Pleas Court, according to court documents.

Snyder originally had been indicted on five counts of sexual battery for engaging in sexual conduct with two women from CROSSWAEH who were working under his supervision at OSS in 2010.

Snyder also was ordered last week to serve 90 days in jail and to complete 100 hours of community service not in a position of trust or authority.
