Tiffin man arrested for robberies
A Tiffin man accused of robbing Hy-Miler twice last month was arrested Monday in Sandusky.
Sgt. Laverne Keefe of the Tiffin Police Department said Cody A. Johnson, 22, was arrested by Sandusky police Monday afternoon on a robbery warrant and a theft warrant.
He was to be transported to the Seneca County Jail Monday night, Keefe said.
Johnson had been identified through video surveillance as the suspect in two March robberies at Hy-Miler, 247 S. Sandusky St., and warrants were issued for his arrest.
During the first robbery at the gas station, reported March 14, a male suspect, who had his face covered, entered the store and took the cash box. A man entered the store March 28, grabbed the cash register and ran. The second time, he did not have his face covered.
Keefe said the theft warrant stemmed from an incident March 26 in which Johnson allegedly stole Long Island Ice Tea and vodka from another Tiffin gas station.
