ProMedica chief to address Terra grads

FREMONT – The president and CEO for ProMedica Health System is to serve as the featured speaker at the 44th annual commencement at Terra State Community College.

Randy Oostra has been in his position since 2009. Prior to that, he served ProMedica Health System in several capacities, including president and chief operating officer, regional president and corporate vice president for strategic business development.

Terra State President Jerome Webster said Oostra was chosen to amplify the school’s academic programs in allied health areas, nursing and the sciences.

“This provides the college a great opportunity to highlight our commitment to allied health programs, our evolving partnerships with ProMedica and the college’s interest in continuing to enhance the support and collaborations with another pillar of service to the community in Memorial Hospital,” he said in a statement.

Oostra has a bachelor’s degree in biology from Northwestern College in Orange City, Iowa, a master’s degree in management from the University of Wisconsin and a doctorate in management from Case Western Reserve University.

Prior to ProMedica, he worked in various capacities for LCM in Sioux Falls, S.D., Health One in Minneapolis, Blodgett Memorial Medical Center in Grand Rapids, Mich., and St. Anthony’s Health System in Alton, Ill.

Terra State’s commencement begins at 7 p.m. May 10 at the school on Napoleon Road, Fremont.
