Police investigate alleged rape
Tiffin Police Department investigated a report of an alleged rape Sunday.
According to a police report, a person advised at 7:41 a.m. Sunday that Republic EMS was transporting a woman to Mercy Tiffin Hospital for an alleged rape that occurred somewhere in Tiffin.
Officer Joe O’Connor of Tiffin Police Department said the victim was not cooperative. The department had no suspect and had made no arrest, he said.
“She didn’t give us any (details),” he said.
O’Connor said the alleged incident involved an acquaintance. The woman, who is not from Tiffin, said it occurred in Tiffin, but police are not sure that is where it occurred, he said.
Fostoria Police Department received a report of a sexual assault Sunday afternoon.
According to a police report, a man requested an officer at 1:24 p.m. Sunday and reported his 18-year-old daughter was sexually assaulted.
Capt. Patrick Brooks said a female reported being sexually assaulted in a vehicle. Police are trying to determine whether it occurred in the city, and the incident has been assigned to a detective, he said.
It was under investigation Sunday evening.
